Tannery Run Brew Works in Ambler announced its grand opening for March 15…  Sterling Pig, the Media (Delco) brewery, opened its new Public House taproom in West Chester this week… Braeloch Brewing (Kennett Square, Chesco) opens today… Under-construction Somers Point Brewing lost part of its roof in those high winds this week. The brewery called it a “flesh wound,” and said it would be repaired quickly…

Keystone Homebrew Supply announced this week it would close its Bethlehem, Pa., location. The company blamed the closure on the growing number of craft breweries and the prevalence of online shopping. Its mega-store in Montgomeryville will remain open…

Brad Rhen reports that Saucony Creek and Sly Fox have finally begun construction of new tap houses in Berks County. Saucony Creek, which had expected to open last summer, now says it’ll open this spring in the historic Franklin Street rail station in Reading. Sly Fox will open in Wyomissing…

Questions

Am I being too picky, or does the new Post at Cira Garage (West Philly) beer hall need to up its draft beer game? There are some good beers there, but the list is well below average for a place that wants to be considered a legitimate beer hall in this town…  And, speaking of beer menus, I wonder what Sam Calagione thinks about Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA being described (along with Sam Adams, Founders, Goose Island and Blue Moon) as “Crafty… But Not Too Crafty” at Atlantic City’s Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall…?

Magically Bullicious, the highly publicized Lucky Charms-flavored beer from Bolero Snort in North Jersey, wasn’t the only breakfast beer to hit the taps this week. Death of the Fox Brewery (Clarksboro, Gloucester County) released Cinnamon Toast Pale Ale on Wednesday to decent reviews… Bald Birds (Audubon, Montco) is the latest brewery to offer reservations on new releases.
